Introduction
We are seeking dynamic, smart, and hardworking Digital Circuit Design Engineers to
join a world-class microprocessor development team that pioneers innovations for
industry-leading hardware in IBM Systems.
IBM’s “Hardware Development Lab” is leading the development of Processors for IBM servers and supercomputers.
Your Role and Responsibilities
You will participate in the physical implementation of the next IBM generation of CPUs,
designed with IBM’s latest Silicon process, emphasizing high performance and low power design, Using cutting-edge synthesis tools and design methodology.
Due to the design complexity and tight requirements, the person filling this position will require fundamental VLSI and digital circuit design understanding and know-how.
The candidate will be required to demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, to work effectively in a highly dynamic team environment, as a part of a larger global design team.
Job Roles:
– Owning the physical design of a set of blocks from the initial design phase to RIT
– Bringing design blocks from RTL through an automated synthesis process to create
the Boolean equivalent physical implementation
– Working as a member of a design team
– Working closely with the Logic design team
– Working in the frame of a world global design team
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
– At least 4-5 years of relevant experience
– Basic VLSI & digital circuit design knowledge
– Acquaintance with digital CAD tools and Linux-like work environment
– Team player
– Motivated, self-directed, and able to work independently
– Fluent in English and Hebrew
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
– Scripting (Shell/SKILL/PERL/TCL)
– RTL coding
– Processor’s architecture
– Deep submicron technologies and basic device physics
– Relevant experience of Synthesis or Custom design
